Weekend 15: Holy Week

Black Friday for 2020.

This year is a bit different from the last three years of Holy Week celebration for the family. It's been 24 days since the city was put into Enhance Community Quarantine. As much as we wanted to travel around the province, but we can't. The planned trip to EL NIDO was cancelled and my trip to Manila for this month was already cancelled. :(

Nothing but movie watching, eating, more playing for the kids. As for me, it's just a regular Holy Days thing just like when I was a bit younger. It gets boring as I thought it was a few days back. Got nothing much to do so I decided to cook Cheesy Tuna Carbonara for lunch.

Right now, I am trying to stay sane for I still have until Sunday staying at home before getting back to work. Kids are sometimes a handful for me. I'd rather want to stay at the office than be home nagging the whole day through.. hahahha

Life after COVID-19: Stories of Survival

As of April 7, the Department of Health reported 414 new cases of the novel coronavirus  disease in the country, raising the total number to 3,660. The Philippines now has 163 fatalities, and 73 recoveries. But while the number of deaths outnumber recoveries, most people who contract the virus go on to get better. That’s because 80% of people who contract the coronavirus will only experience relatively mild symptoms, or even no symptoms at all.

While most will recover from contracting COVID-19, the peculiar nature of recovery is it requires isolation. And patients, in addition to being sick, will oftentimes also experience great anxiety and afraid. According to the members of Public Health Communications Advisory Network (PHCAN), COVID-positive patients should be shown kindness and compassion, and not discrimination and fear.

As a follow up to their first FB Live session last April 4, PHCAN will be holding another Live session this Saturday, April 11 at 2PM, with Dr. Iris Isip-Tan together with COVID-19 survivors to discuss recovery, coping, and moving forward during this very challenging time. Follow the official PH CAN Facebook page for more updates and tune in to hear the stories of recovered COVID-19 patients.

About PHCAN

PHCAN is an official partner of the Department of Health (DOH) that seeks to drive a social movement to buy more time for the country’s healthcare system by communicating critical and verified public health messages on COVID-19 to families. It is composed of doctors and healthcare professionals, dedicated to empowering families and communities to care for their loved ones during these challenging times.

Weekend 13: Quarantine Perks

This Corona Virus pandemic is making us panic due to paranoia of everything.. Lack of food, getting infected etc, etc..

But one thing I am somewhat thankful for this situation is that I get to spend more time with my daughters and parents. I know that I am not a perfect mother for them, but hell who doesn't want that uninterrupted bonding moments with them for 2 long weeks!

These two got more time to bond and play together, also more time to be like 'cat and dog'.. Well at least they're together.

Our mornings were filled with first thing picture taking, and just before sleeping picture taking again.

I feel sorry for those who were asked to be at the front-line (the frontliners) fighting the COVID19, for they can't be with their families. I just pray them well to survive the situation and be of good health despite being overworked for the community.

Despite these two giving me headaches and making my blood pressure shoots up, I love the idea that we're always together. More groupies.. More cooking sessions.. and of course.. more food trips together at home.

Although I keep on praying that this pandemic will not stay that long.. For the good of everyone/everybody.
