Nico Nazario or KuyaNic is the mastermind behind Project Lupon a new media entity for gamers focusing on event coverage, gaming-related content and streaming support for both local and international market. 

“I don’t have a decent streaming background. All I have was a vision on what should be shown and content to produce.”  Shared by KuyaNic when asked about his streaming background.

From Marketer to Caster

Unlike other casters, KuyaNic ‘s story on how he transitioned in becoming a streamer was an accident. “I wasn’t the one who originally shoutcast for WomboXCombo. Thing though is that my caster had an emergency and cannot stay with me in the studio just outside Manila.” he narrates. “I started to love the process and was looking forward to what better thing I can showcase the next day” KuyaNic added.

Giving up his regular job was not an easy decision, working from one of the pillars of Philippine esports can be rewarding but KuyaNic’s hunger to improve on things prevailed. “I am a very passionate and competitive worker. My mindset was, there’s always something better to be done” he recounted. 

Project Lupon Conquering the World

From January 19 to 27, 2019 Project Lupon will cover Dota 2’s The Chongquing Major where 16 teams across the globe will compete for USD 1,000,000 and valuable DPC points for The International 2019.

Manila, Philippines – The country’s biggest Rules of Survival tournament hosted by Nimo TV has successfully held in Mineski Infinity Taft on December 15, 2018. Sealteam Peenoise emerged champion and took home Php 100,000 in cash plus in-game items.

Comprised of Jayson Tabin, Rexon Kerk Tanay, Jhoey Bhoy Buenaflor and Squad Leader John Kirk Magbanua, Sealteam Peenoise endured the Finals that lasted over 7 hours defeating 14 other squads. From a 2nd to the last finish during the first round, the team was able to recover by winning the third, fifth and sixth round giving them a total score of 3,065 enough to win the title.  Savage Gaming comes in 2nd with a final score of 2,925, Team Marshall with 2,675 in 3rd, Comeback in 4th with 2,380 Points and Evo Groundz with 2,380 points in 5th.

The top 5 teams will represent the country in the upcoming Rules of Survival Southeast Asia tournament and will face other Southeast Asian teams to gain supremacy.
